NZ K Per Day Challenge

Can you and your school keep up with ultramarathon runner Lisa Tamati as she completes the "NZ Run" challenge?

You read correctly. Lisa is faced with her toughest challenge of her life, to run the length of New Zealand from Bluff to Cape Reinga. Completing 52 marathons in 33 days (approx. 2200km) all for two extremely worthy causes CanTeen and Cure Kids.

Is she crazy? Probably!

Will she do it? With your help, she will!

Get your school behind Lisa and take part in the "K a Day" Challenge. All you need to do is register here, get your students running just 1km a day for two weeks and see how much your school can raise for CanTeen and Cure Kids along the way.

25% of the total funds raised are to be kept by schools.

Let's get more kids, more active, more often!

You can use our interactive website in your lesson plans. The website will have daily blogs and photos on how Lisa is going, where she is and how far she has run.

There will also be an extensive media campaign involving Close Up, Mediaworks Radio Stations throughout the country, magazines and local newspapers to ensure students can immerse themselves fully into the campaign.

How about checking if Lisa is running past your school and come out to meet her. She would love to stop, have a chat with students about what she is doing and why it is important to have an active lifestyle.

25% of the total of funds raised can be kept by your school to use perhaps to buy further sports equipment or for other active fun programmes. Mufti Days or gold coin trails could be another option to raise money for our 2 worthy causes.

If you need any further information or if you would like to see if Lisa can stop at your school then contact Eileen Tamati - eta@catholicgirlsnp.school.nz.
